FOOD GRADE HOSE

Food grade hose can be called food grade flexible hose or FDA grade tube. Extra flexible, microbe resistant, food grade suction and discharge hoses designed for beer, wine, potable water, grains, powders, flour, dry foods, oil, syrup, dairy, juices, and more. Rubber hoses and Food grade water hoses are designed to transport a wide variety of fluids without imparting odor or taste and are specifically designed for sanitary suction and discharge application.

Food grade hoses are extensively employed in food manufacturing units to carry out production in a safe and hygienic environment. The most common wet and dry applications include: Typically, they are used to supply beer, wine, water, milk, juice, soft drinks, flour and fish.

A food grade hose is used for the bulk transfer of food products through suction or pneumatic systems. These suction and discharge hoses are exclusively manufactured to preserve the quality of food products and prevent contamination from exposure to foreign elements.

Food handling, sanitary or food grade hoses must meet the standards set by the FDA and, in most cases, a non-profit governing body on sanitary conditions known as 3A. The FDA sets the specifications for the hose material such as the polymers, fillers, plasticizers and the other physical “ingredients” of the hose. 3A, on the other hand, tests the hoses under real world conditions, testing for strength of the product, it’s reaction with cleaning and sanitary solvents and it’s absorption of fats and oils. To maintain flexibility, food grade hoses are made up of rubber or PVC. However, they have an internal stainless steel wire helical structure to provide strength and durability. A food grade hose differs from a fuel hose or other suction hoses in the following ways:

Chemical resistance: Regular contact with food products, particularly wine, beer and milk, can lead to the development of acids and chemicals in the hose. These acids can affect the quality of food and can even cause food poisoning. Thus, food grade hoses are manufactured from non-toxic compounds to ensure chemical resistance.

Odorless: Food grade hoses are odorless and tasteless to preserve the actual taste of the food products.

High pressure good grade hose: Good quality food grade hoses can sustain high pressure supply. Maintaining supply pressure is particularly important in the wine and beer applications.

High temp food grade hose: Food grade hoses are especially manufactured to cater to the demanding conditions at food processing plants. They can withstand rough handling and high temperature situations.

MULTIPURPOSE HOSE

Multipurpose hose belongs to Industrial rubber hose. It can be also called Multi-purpose industrial hose, Multipurpose hose include General purpose hose, Industrial air hose, Rubber water hose and fuel oil hose. They are commonly seen in a wide range of air, water, or other fluid applications. They are normally made of either rubber, PVC, or hybrid thermoplastic rubber blends.

When selecting a Multi-purpose hose, users need to consider the weight, handling characteristics, and fluid or environment compatibility with the tube and/or cover. As an example, in an oily environment will typically breakdown most PVC/Vinyl or EPDM hoses. Additionally, a very cold or very hot environment will have adverse effects on the type of hose used; PVC hose will become rigid on a cold day and a wet noodle on a very hot day. The layers of reinforcement will also make the hose more robust, kink resistant, and able to handle greater working pressures. More modern compounding processes have allowed hybrid thermoplastic hoses to offer many features traditionally seen in a rubber hose, but at the weight and price point of a PVC hose.

WELDING HOSE

Welding hose belongs to industrial hose which is also called gas welding hose. It is designed for welding, cutting and allied processes. Specific welding hose cantering for oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, argon and fuel gases including acetylene, natural gas, methane and propane available upon request. They include: Twin Welding Hose, Oxy/Acetylene Welding Hose, Propane Hose and so on.

A double-hose or twinned design can be used, meaning that the oxygen and fuel hoses are joined together. If separate hoses are used, they should be clipped together at intervals approximately 3 feet (1 m) apart, although that is not recommended for cutting applications, because beads of molten metal given off by the process can become lodged between the hoses where they are held together, and burn through, releasing the pressurized gas inside, which in the case of fuel gas usually ignites.

The hoses are color-coded for visual identification. The color of the hoses varies between countries. In the United States, the oxygen hose is green and the fuel hose is red. In the UK and other countries, the oxygen hose is blue (black hoses may still be found on old equipment), and the acetylene (fuel) hose is red. If liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel, such as propane, is used, the fuel hose should be orange, indicating that it is compatible with LPG. LPG will damage an incompatible hose, including most acetylene hoses.
